Tips for Learning German Vocabulary Faster

  • Always learn nouns with their article. “Tisch” is not enough – learn “der Tisch”. Our colours help your memory link the word to its gender.
  • Learn the plural at the same time. German plurals are irregular, so it pays to memorise them early.
  • Say every word out loud. Speaking activates a different memory than reading.
  • Study little and often. Ten minutes every day beats one hour once a week.
  • Use new words immediately. Write one sentence with each new word, or practise in our sentence builder.
